My feeling is that therapy should help to make you more resilient, thoughtful and present-focused. The process should not feel intimidating or mysterious, but should be filled with moments of connection, humor, and insight.
My aim is to help you connect with your own strength and courage in order to live a more joyful life. I am influenced by my professional and personal work in mindfulness, attachment theory, strengths-based therapy, and existential theory. I believe that humans feel more satisfied when we find meaning and purpose in our history and use that knowledge to create a better present and future.
I believe that a full life is made up of hard days and amazing days and that part of our task in life is to recognize the beauty that surrounds us.
My areas of specialization include grief & loss, life transitions, pre-parenting and parenting challenges, including adjustment to parenthood. At the moment, I have limited openings in my private practice. I look forward to hearing from you! I can be reached at Erin Bernau “at” gmail “dot” com.
